This page changes and updates frequently because I get tired of the same old thing.
I am recently engaged to an Army soldier. (I mention him a lot)
I am an adult, barely.
I harbor a passion for animals and a talent in short stories.
I have a tendency to do things impulsively, which is how I wound up living in the American Southwest with a cat and a blog.
I have a lot of questions about… everything.
I like dragons and flowers and climbing trees and staring down the stars. I like the moon and going on hikes and tapioca pudding. I like good food and hypothetical situations and works of fantasy and apricot tea. I like living in my head, but sometimes I get stuck there.
I don’t like loud noises and spiders and lima beans.
All of this wraps up into a package that most people refer to as “Erica”.
It’s lovely to meet you, and I hope you enjoy A Sign Of Life. If you have any suggestions or questions or comments or just want to chat, by all means contact me on Facebook or e-mail or just drop a comment here.
Enjoy your day!
Here are some pictures of my life:

Hooray for sushi love
! I also love sushi (much to the disgust of my best friend who can’t stomach the food, literally). Good luck on your quest to make money via blogging, I’m sure it’s something all us fellow bloggers think about!
Thank you!
Hi there – I’m a writer currently chasing the friendliest publisher
I’ve ever met. I think I’ll wave my matieral in their faces untill they
issue a restraining order – or better yet, publish me.
It’s good to meet another tree-hugger. If you like bacon a company called
morning star makes a tasty alternitive. I’d avoid meat, but the people I live
with fill the fridge with things they never bother to finnish, and I don’t like
letting it go to waste – I shared it with the dogs but the fried stuff made
them sick. Seafood is a weakness of mine too – everything from oysters
to anchovies.
My blog has many articles about the exploites of delightfully insane artists
and culture jammers. (Bohemians at large.) I haven’t added to it recently as
I am tied up with chasing publishers and building indoor jungles for mother’s
finicky chinese lizard. Building and maintaining habitats is something I find
deeply fullfilling – that and argueing with my cat. I wonder which of us is
more irritating?
I will be answering comments after trolling freshly pressed, but probably
wont be posting until I’m done with this box of rainforest – You seem like
a new face. It’s good to meet new people.
Hello to you too!
If by “new” you mean “been lurking around for the last seven months”, then yes, I am new.
Best of luck on being published!
I don’t recall saying I was a tree-hugger… Although it’s an apt enough description. Also, after being raised by a veterinarian, I must say this: be careful what you feed the dogs! Especially if it’s chicken or fish (bones), grapes, raisins, or chocolate. Also, never give a cat chewing gum. Unless you want a new cat. (Dark sense of humor. My apologies)
I despise letting good food go to waste! The people I’m living with do that too, which is one of a plethora of reasons why I’m moving out soon.
I do know about the bones, they can have cow bones though? It’s hard sometimes,
though the unhealthy things we put in food can be even worse for something that
is smaller – or some things are just poision to other creatures, I know tortortise’s are
not supposed to eat aprocots.
The only thing I know about feeding reptiles is that they need a ton of protein.
With the food I mentioned earlier for dogs and cats, that’s more of a poison thing. I know boneless chicken or lamb is really good for dogs.
Getting some reptiles to eat is really hard, I need to keep thinking of new ways to present
the food or the lizard won’t eat it – also calcium.
Reptiles also need a lot of calcium.
and no, I always take the meat of the chicken before I give it to a dog – the chicken was fried
and breaded, I don’t think all the fat was good
for them.
I know calcium-dusted meal worms are a favorite of most lizards. Crickets are also a good alternative to meat. Have you tried those? Snakes are a little different though.
Yeah, fried food is about as bad for dogs as it is for humans — worse because their bodies aren’t used to it.
Ok, sorry I can’t resist:
Dogs: table foods are fine if you are smart about it–nothing with fat in it; it can cause pancreatitis. This includes all pork, all beef except the leanest hamburger, boiled and the fat squeezed out with paper towels; all dark meat poultry and all poultry and fish skin. Having said that, chicken breast boiled or baked, no skin is good as is turkey breast. Bones: just say no. Also no chips, fried anything, icecream, cheese, peanut butter (except in the tiniest amounts if this is how you administer medication. Too much fat can cause pancreatitis. And that is extremely painful and is very dangerous. Many vegies are good; however, raisins/grapes are very toxic. Onions are toxic. Xylitol in sugar free gum and other artificially sweetened things is extremely toxic.
Reptiles: The diet, humidity and temperature are all crucial. If your reptile is not eating well, I’d check the other two things. Also your veterinarian can check calcium levels. A clue to a weak lizard with metabolic bone disease (not enough calcium) is that he can’t keep his pelvis/hips lifted up off the ground.
I happen to like what you like. I also like spiders because they are signs of life as well. Star Trek and Lord of the Rings are excellent movies. You writing flows and easy to read and that is a good thing.
I’m fine with spiders being alive, so long as I can’t see them.
Thank you for the lovely compliment, and thanks for stopping by!

Wow, thank you so much!
You’re welcome
Aw… I was going to call my kitty calypso but I settled on Luna
Luna’s a beautiful name! The moon is awesome.
I was also considering calling my cat Soliel (Sun) but Calypso just seemed to fit.
